Abstract

This study focused light on some clinical parameters for X-ray technicians, since X-ray is a type of ionizing radiation with high energy that produces ionization or electric charges when it passes through matters. Exposure to such type of radiation leads to different cancers and recurrent infections, X-ray technicians upon their work are in continuous exposure to this type of IR, and that will cause many health consequences. A total of 60 X-ray technicians involved in this study as test groups and 29 controls were people with no relation to any ionizing radiation exposure, they were all healthy and non-smokers to compare their results with test groups. Results showed that X-Ray technicians upon work overload can suffer from disturbance in WBCs differential count concerning certain cells; while Hb% may stay stable due to fast recovery of hematopoietic system.

Key Words: X-ray, Ionizing Radiation, Hb%, X-ray technician, Differential WBCs count.
