Study of Optical properties of Copper Oxide (CuO) thin film prepared by SPD technique

This study is focused on the optical properties of thin films of p-type semiconductor CuO prepared by spray pyrolysis deposition technique. This film is grown at 350ºC on glass substrate. The optical properties are considered because of its application as photovoltaic cells and solar energy conversion. These properties are evaluated from UV-VIS spectra. The results are shown high absorbance at UV region, which decreases rapidly in VIS-IR region whereas they show direct transition energy gap of 2.094 eV.
